Chimps Death – Sad News from Sweet Waters Kenya
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the deaths of Ajabu and her sister Angela – two charismatic female chimpanzees at Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. In late February, the Sanctuary was hit by the worst disease outbreak we’ve ever seen. We mobilized our veterinary team fast, but there was nothing they could do for Ajabu and Angela, who died on the 24th and 25th Feb 2019 respectively from acute bacterial pneumonia. All the other chimpanzees have undergone intense veterinary care and are on the road to recovery. // read more
