Day1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Upon your morning arrival at the Kenyatta International Airport, meet with our company safari guide. Take the safari orientation and after take a leisurely drive to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro (approximately 4 hrs.). On the way visit Maasai Village. Arrive for lunch at Kibo Safari Camp, followed by an afternoon game viewing drive. Visiting Maasai village after safari – Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B
The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rises above a saucer of clouds and dominates every aspect of Amboseli. This park covers only 150 square miles but despite its small size and its fragile ecosystem it supports a wide range of mammals (well over 50 of the larger species) and birds (over 400 species)
Day2: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi
After breakfast in morning take game drive in Amboseli to enjoy this beautiful and often overlooked park. Where the staggering views of Mount Kilimanjaro throw shadows across the terrain dotted with elephants. Picnic lunch on observation hill – Later on game drive en- route as you leave the park. Depart for Nairobi arriving at Best Western Hotel – Nairobi in time for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: F/B
Day3: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast drive further north to the semi-arid area of Samburu (approx. 6 hrs. drive) with a lunch on the way. Evening game drive in Samburu, Dinner and overnight stay at Sopa Samburu Lodge. Meal plan: F/B
Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known National Parks but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five). The reserve is also popular with elephants. Large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the miracle lioness that adopted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve).
Day4: Samburu National Reserve – Ol Pejeta
After early morning tea/coffee depart for a game drive returning back in time for breakfast. After late breakfast depart to Ol Pejeta arriving in your Serena Sweet Waters Camp in time for lunch. Enjoy a late afternoon game-drive where you will also have an opportunity to the visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary. Since Ol Pejeta is private conservancy activities such as bush walks and night game-drives are also available at an additional cost. Dinner and overnight stay at Sweet Waters Camp, Meal Plan: F/B
Ol Pejeta is an 110,000 acre private conservancy in central Kenya, is home to the ‘Big Five’ of Africa and has one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya. The conservancy is the largest black rhino conservancy in East Africa in addition to the southern white rhinos and the critically endangered northern white rhinos. The conservancy also hosts the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya. Ol Pejeta is an ornithological paradise with over 300 bird species.
Day5: Ol Pejeta – Maasai Mara National Park
After breakfast at 09:00am drive southwards along the floor of the Great Rift Valley with stopover at the view point. Then proceed to Maasai Mara with picnic lunch arriving in the afternoon. Later proceed for evening game drive which is well known for its rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is also renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. Day6: Full Day Maasai Mara National Park
After breakfast with picnic lunch, you spend full day game viewing with a visit to the Mara River where there is concentration of a lot of animals. You will have your picnic lunch as you watch the crocodiles, hippos and other animals living in water. This day you will have the option of going to visit the Maasai villages. Day7: Maasai Mara National Park – Nairobi
After breakfast and take short morning game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve and proceed to Nairobi with a lunch on the way and visit to Giraffe Center. Dinner and overnight stay at Best Western Hotel – Nairobi, Meal plan: F/B
Day8: Nairobi – Kigali – Goma, Virunga National Park
Early morning breakfast and after transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for morning flight to the Kigali International Airport and upon arrival meet with the safari guide and you will be oriented about the Congo gorilla Safari. After transfer to Gisenyi via the undulating land forms of Rwanda and upon arrival at Goma border clear for after with your printed Democratic Republic of Congo Tourist Visa cross to the Democratic Republic of Congo and embark the Virunga Foundation jeep and transfer to the Virunga National Park for your dinner and overnight stay at Mikeno Lodge/Bukima Tented Camp/Kibumba Tented Camp. Day9: Congo Gorilla Trek Adventure
Have breakfast and after transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the Virunga National Park and the mountain gorillas. After enter into the park for the gorilla trek adventure if these great apes that are always spotted in the Virunga slopes. Return to the lodge and relax as you wait for dinner and overnight stay as above. Meal plan: F/B
Day10: Transfer to Nyiragongo Hiking Tours
Have breakfast and after embark the safari jeep and transfer to the Kibati Patrol Point where the Mount Nyiragongo Hike starts from at 10:30 am and all prepared with your Mikeno Package that includes the eats of the day and sleeping items in the Nyiragongo Shelters at the summit of the mount. This adventure takes 8 – 9 hours hiking as you take some stop overs until you reach to the top of the Mountain. Dinner and overnight stay at the Nyiragongo Shelters. Meal plan: F/B
Day11: Descend Nyiragongo – Kigali
Early breakfast and after descend down the Mount Nyiragongo and this takes like 4 – 5 hours depending to the speed of the group members and when you reach at the Kibati Point meet the Virunga Foundation Jeep and transfer back to Goma border where you will find the driver and transfer back to Kigali with lunch on your way.Dinner and overnight stay at Mille Collins Hotel – Kigali/Governor’s Residence Kigali. Day12: Kigali city tours and transfer to the Kigali international airport for your return flight back home. End of services
